Night view of the swimming pool called ‘Tournesol’ in the Bois du Château district of Lorient. This image is part of my series entitled « Re-paysement » which I started when I arrived in this city. It has a particular importance for me because, already in Toulouse, I swam in one of these swimming pools built at the turn of the 70s-80s. I go there every week and before pushing its door, I am always struck by the poetry of this architecture placed on the grass under the tall pines and by its change of universe plunging me into the smell of chlorine and the sound of water.

‘Re-paysement’ is a word invented by the artist. It’s a French play word with ‘Dépaysement’ which means ‘Change of scenery’ or location… Editor’s note.

Vue nocturne de la piscine dite « Tournesol » du quartier Bois du Château à Lorient. Cette image s’inscrit dans ma série intitulée « Re-paysement » commencée à mon arrivée dans cette ville. Elle a une importance toute particulière pour moi car, déjà à Toulouse, je nageais dans l’une de ces piscines construites au tournant les années 70-80. Je m’y rends chaque semaine et avant de pousser la porte d’entrée, je suis toujours saisie par la poésie de cette architecture posée sur l’herbe sous les grand pins et par son changement d’univers me plongeant dans l’odeur de chlore et de bruits d’eau.
